Mencap’s plans for a state-of-the-art children and families centre received a welcome boost today (12 May) when Environment Minister Mark H Durkin MLA announced that planning permission for the new centre in Newtownbreda had been given.

Welcoming the minister’s announcement, and the fact that there were no objection to the plans, Colette Slevin, head of Mencap’s children, young people and family services said that the new Children and Families Centre was on course to open in 2016.
